A Message from Our CEO

To our customers,

With the new year upon us, we look ahead to the opportunities and potential challenges 2025 could bring. To help you stay ahead, we’ve released our 2025 Fine Foods Industry Trends and Predictions Guide, offering insights into what lies ahead for foodservice, retail, and beyond. Discover the full guide here!

On the crop landscape, green olive harvests continue to face difficulties, with droughts and extreme temperatures leading to reduced yields and heightened competition for limited resources.

After months of disruptions caused by El Niño in 2024, Peruvian anchovy fishing has resumed, stabilizing production and improving raw material availability. This recovery is expected to restore consistency to global supply in the coming months.

Global trade is off to a strong start in 2025, even with temporary factory closures in China for the Lunar New Year holiday and the spike in ocean freight rates that is typical in the weeks leading up to the New Year. We expect the constrained ocean capacity and a spike in rates to subside in mid-February.

As of January 8th, the International Longshoremen’s Association and the United States Maritime Alliance have successfully reached an agreement on a six-year master contract. This resolution ensures continued operations without disruption and eliminates the risk of a strike at East and Gulf Coast ports.

We appreciate your partnership and trust in Roland Foods. As we step into the new year, we remain steadfast in supporting your business and navigating the challenges ahead together.
